Plot

Sanchala IAS is the personal secretary of Minister Easwar Prasad. Easwar opposes his seniors as he doesn’t feel good about their ideas. The government couldn’t attack him directly and hence they target Sanchala. They get her stuck in a haunted bungalow called Bhaagamathie Bungalow. The people, who want Sanchala to get trapped, are now stuck as their action receives a boomerang effect. To their shock, Sanchala got possessed by Bhaagamathie. Why did Bhaagamathie possess Sanchala? Why did the politicians try to leg pull the honest IAS officer? Watch the rest in the theaters.

Star Performance

Anushka… this lady always had proved her versatility in acting. To be frank, she lived in the characters Sanchala and Bhaagamathie. Whistle sound tears the eardrums when Anushka enters. Anushka has shown a lot of variations for the highly educated Sanchala and the majestic Bhaagamthie. Her fiery looks make the viewers stun a second. Other than Anushka’s performance, there is nothing significant on the performance side. Jayaram, Asha and Unni had done their roles flawlessly.

Analysis

G Ashok’s Bhaagamathie could not be addressed as a complete horror thriller and it is partially a political thriller. We couldn’t say that this film is unique in its genre. The flashback scenes are not new to us. Similarly, the horror scenes are not much effective. Jayaram and Anushka’s scenes in the second half were interesting. The film has two big plus points; one is Anushka’s screen presence and the other is Thaman’s BGM. This guy has given a stunning BGM. In the first teaser of Bhaagamathie itself, Thaman created huge expectations with his BGM. Production values and technical values are good. Cinematography and art direction need special mention.

Verdict

Although the first half is not much impressive, the second half completely satisfies the audiences. However, we should not compare it with “Baahubali.” With Anushka’s presence, Bhaagamathie is a good film to watch with family, this weekend! What? Booked the tickets?
