Aranmanai 3 is a horror-comedy thriller scripted and directed by Sundar C. He plays the lead role with "Arya." "Vivek" played an important role, and it is sad to see that it is his posthumous release. Raashi Khanna, Andrea Jeremiah, "Nalini," Sakshi Agarwal, Myna Nandini, "Manobala," Yogi Babu, Sampath Raj, Vincent Ashokan, Ovi Bhandarkar, Veronika Arora, Chithra Lakshmanan, Amit Bhargav, Vichu Vishwanath, Bharath Ram, Sri Ganesh, Vela Ramamoorthy, and Madhusudan Rao are cast. Singers "Hariharan" and Shankar Mahadevan made a special appearance in the film. "C Sathya" composed the music. UK Senthilkumar handled the camera, and Fenny Oliver edited the film. Sundar C and Khushbu Sundar produced the movie under the Avni Cinemax banner.

A Zamindar does some wrong to Eswari. She dies and returns as a ghost to take revenge on Zamindar and his family. Due to some unwanted happenings in their palace, everyone is confused. Zamindar's son-in-law decides to find out the truth. Before he finds it, a person who visits the palace for repair work gets possessed by the ghost. How he finds out the truth and works as a ghostbuster is the rest of the story.

Star Performance

Who is the hero? Sundar C occupies the film, and Arya seems to have done an extended cameo role. However, he has done his part well. Andrea fits the role well. Where are Hansika and Kovai Sarala? They are missing in this franchise. After "Santhanam" and "Soori" in the first two franchises, the third installment has Yogi Babu. He got his usual role. Vivek had done a good job. Raashi Khanna has nothing new to do.

The director has chosen a safe genre and script for his next, after Vandhaa Rajva Dhaan Varuven and "Action." As usual, he has picked his favorite stars, Andrea, Chithra Lakshmanan, and Manobala, who fit well in their roles. The story is not unique, and the logic is missing here and here. However, Sundar C managed to engage his audience with the horror-comedy elements. The same pattern with a devotional song in the climax is the horror-comedy format, and the director followed it perfectly. The cinematography, BGM, and editing are good. The VFX works are okayish.

What's There?

  • Performances are good
  • Production values are decent

What's Not There?

  • Logical loopholes are there
  • The same format
  • Many characters are not used well

The film is engaging, but it doesn't stay at heart. However, the audience feels that this horror-comedy is better than the director's previous couple of movies. Aranmanai 3 –watchable!
