Plot

Faiza Sufiya goes to Delhi to complete her doctorate on a Malabar-based freedom fighter, Abdu Rahman Saheb. She faces some issues in the University, being secular in her ideologies. She had to lock horns with the people who don’t synch with her thoughts. What happens to Faiza? Was she able to manage the problems? The rest of the story deals with this.

Star Performance

Parvathy has done her best, as usual. Roshan is good in his role. The rest of the cast had done what is required.

Analysis

The film deals with various ideologies and the main character is designed as a secular person. In certain situations, people from her side are against her. The writer and director don’t want the film to move with just the communal issues but had dealt with it in a different way. BGM is used whenever needed and it suits the mood well. Similarly, the cinematography is neat and Mussoorie is captured well. The casting team had done a decent job in picking up the right artists. The climax comes with a punch that makes everyone think deeply and question themselves.

Verdict

The story starts with a strong note and ends with a huge punch. Many a time, the dialogues are sharp and make the audience recollect the past happenings. Although the film is overall good, the climax is so strong and is the main part. Varthamanam – watchable!
