Hridayam is scripted and directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan. Visakh Subramaniam produced the film. Viswajith Odukkathil handled the camera and editing is by Ranjan Abraham. The music composition is by Hesham Abdul Wahab. Pranav Mohanlal, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Darshana Rajendran, "Vijayaraghavan," Johny Antony, Aju Varghese, Arun Kurian, Aswath Lal, Annu Antony, Abhishek Joseph George, Ann Saleem, Megha Thomas, Shaun Romy, Shiva Hariharan, Jojo Jose, Jishnu Sreekumar, Ajith Thomas Abraham, Kurian Joseph John, Adithyan Chandrashekhar, Meenakshi Raveendran, Anjali Nair, Ramesh Menon, and Maria Vincent featured in the film.

Arun and Darshana fall in love with each other during their first year in engineering college. Although their love life started good, it didn't continue the same. They broke up and chose different paths. The film showcases their college life, his job after graduation, their breakup, his marriage, and his kids.

Star Performance

Pranav is quite decent in his role. Kalyani plays a neat role as Nithya. Vijayaraghavan and the rest of the stars fit well in the given roles. Yet, the person who impresses the audience is none other than Darshana Rajendran. She plays pretty naturally and attracts the audience.

The story is not something new, but the screenplay is. Vineeth has designed the characters well and has got the work done by every artist excellently. Usually, his films portray a lot of emotions, and the same is the case with Hridayam. After Marakkar Arabikdalinte Simham, Kalyani shares the screen space with Pranav, and their chemistry worked out well. Although everything goes well with the film, the film's length should have been trimmed. It is nearing 3 hours, which doesn't go well with the audience. However, the director manages to engage the audience with perfectly planned scenes along with the best performers. The music and cinematography are remarkable.

What's There?

  • The screenplay and execution are neat
  • The performances of the stars are remarkable

What's Not There?

  • The length of the film should have been trimmed

The film comes with many emotional sequences that make the audience travel along with the story. However, the length of the film is the big let out. If it had been trimmed, the movie would have reached better.
