Dulquer Salman is a happy-go-lucky person and believes in living every moment of life to the fullest. He makes the lives of those around him a cherishing one. And there is Parvathy, who dons the role of a graphical artist in this movie. She has an insightful approach towards what life is. And the movie goes on the lines of the love between Dulquer and Parvathy and its impact on their near and dear ones.

Star Performances

It is vivid that Dulquer is evolving himself as an actor in every movie and Charlie is a perfect fodder to his acting talent. He has done an exemplary job with the heavy role that he has been given. And Parvathy, fresh from the success of Ennu Ninte Moideen, captures your attention with her freshness and realistic performance. Aparna Gopinath has done a neat job.

Soubin Shaheer is natural in his acting and Nedumudi Venu, Thomas, KPAC Lalitha, P Balachandran, Tovino Thomas does justice to their limited roles.

Martin Prakkat, the director, should be lauded for showcasing Dulquer Salman in a surprising role. It is apt to say that the director has indeed tapped the potential of this rising actor.

As far as execution is concerned Charlie is a near-perfect love story. Dulquer will surely reach news heights of stardom given the beautiful etching of his character. The character of Dulquer Salman in Charlie has an enigma to it. And credit should be given to Martin Prakkat and Unni R for coming out with a novel screenplay. One of the appreciable points of this movie is that Charlie doesn’t rely on the typical hero; this hero is somewhat different from the others. He has a unique identity. The movie revolves around the character of the protagonist rather than believing in a substantial plot.

What’s there?

What’s not there?

This movie is not a total entertainer as some audiences prefer.
