Well, for those who are expecting a film that is completely different in all its aspects then watch Akkaldhamayile Pennu. This flick, directed by debutante Jairam Khailas, narrates three phases of the main characters of the flick. This film is the next woman-oriented film after the Manju-Rima starrer Rani Padmini.

The movie draws inspiration from a real life happening. Shweta Menon (known as Agnes in the film) who is in the clutches of poverty, seeks the love of a man to start a new life altogether. But as fate would have it, she is forsaken by the man, and now she is faced with the hard reality for fending for herself and her daughter. Here then, she takes up a job that is generally done my men. She entered into this different world to make both ends meet. Malavika Nair (who is known as Mariya) is the daughter of Shweta Menon in this flick. The flick showcases the ordeals that the duo had to undergo for the sake of survival. Analysis Both Shweta and Malavika have prominent roles in the film. The flick is shot in the beautiful locales of Wagamon and its vicinity.

Star Performances

Shweta Menon has given an exemplary performance in the flick. Malavika Nair has garnered the Kerala State Award twice for her outstanding performances as a child artist in the flicks Karuthapakshikal and Oomakkuyil Padumbol. Now she has returned after a sabbatical of 3 years (she is studying in 10th standard now). And she has indeed delivered a spontaneous performance. There is a streak of daring attitude in her character that she portrays to perfection. The voice-over of Lal helps to lift the quality of the film. Vineeth, who had taken up an unpredicted role, delivers a riveting performance. Shaaju and Sudheer are no less too.

What’s there?

1. Venu’s cinematography is a main asset to the film.

2. BGM and music by Alphonse are soulful.

4. There is a poetic streak to the visualization of the songs.

What's not there?

There's some void which could have been filled, Otherwise the film is a commendable effort.

The script is refreshing, and this will attract the audience.
