Shiv Shankar Film Factory has come up with a film on the ill-effects of cigarette. And they tried to intersperse this message with the commercial elements.
Plot
The movie tries to drive home the point of quitting cigarette for one’s well being. The lead actor of the movie has to pay a huge cost due to smoking cigarette. There is also the love angle in the movie, not just one, but two.
Star Performances
For movies of such theme the actors should take care that they give a balanced performance. In this regard Nagashekhar has done overaction. He could have also worked better with his delivery of dialogues. Rakshita has done a neat job while Roopa shree has done justice to her role. Sudha Belawadi has done what is required of her. Comedy of Sadhu Kokila is a letdown.
Analysis
The movie would have been great if it just concentrated on the bad effects of smoking. But it also has the love element attached to it. The passive smoking issue in the movie with the "mother" angle is quite interesting. The director should be appreciated for concentrating on this subtle issue. Lucky Shankar, the director of the movie has interspersed the comedy, sentiments, confusions and songs to a commendable degree. But he could have worked well in the comedy department.
What’s there?
Couple of songs is appealing, thanks Indrasena.
What’s not there?
Verdict
The director should be applauded for taking a noble issue as the ill effects of cigarette; the director tries to bring about awareness of the bad effects of smoking. However, he could have done better with the execution.
