Well, it seems it’s the remake season for Kannada films. Bengaluru 520023 is the remake of the Tamil sports movie Chennai 600028. And this movie is a scene-by-scene copy of the original, to an extent.

has handled direction of this movie. This movie has the players of Karnataka Bulldozer’s team, the team that emerged victorious in the T20 league of movie stars. This naturally arouses the expectations of the audience since the stars have already established themselves as cricketers.
Plot
Two local sports team (Galli cricket) are always on rivalry and are raving to beat each other. They have their own ups and downs, and this is shown in a comical way in the movie. There is also the romantic track in Bengaluru 520023.
Star Performances
Since the actors like Jai Karthik, Rajeev and Dhruva (of the team) have a passion for cricket, they have essayed their roles well. Sanjjaana Galrani also has done a neat job.
What’s there?
1. The music of Arun Andrews is outstanding. His music complements well with the emotional and comedy scenes.
2. The comic streak in the film will appeal to the audience.
3. The happenings taking place in the lives of the two teams are showcased well.
4. The cricket stars have retained their real names, and this works for the film.
5. Sudeep’s voice over is a highlight of the film.
What’s not there?
Some actors have not performed to the expectations.
Verdict
Though the movie has its share of negatives it can be forgiven since many positives are also there in the film. It can surely be watched once.
