Thank God is a fantasy drama directed by Indra Kumar. It is a remake of Sorte Kugler, a Danish movie. The film features Ajay Devgan, Sidharth Malhotra, Rakul Preet Singh, Kiara Khanna, Kiku Sharda, Seema Pahwa, Kanwaljeet Singh, Urmilla Kothare, Sumit Gulati, Mahesh Balraj, Soundarya Sharma, and Nora Fatehi. T-Series Films, Maruti International, Soham Rockstar, and Anand Pandit Motion Pictures produced the film. Aseem Bajaj cranked the camera, and Dharmendra Sharma edited the film. Amar Mohile composed the music.

Ayaan Kapoor is a real estate agent. He is forced to sell his bungalow due to his debts. He is married to Ruhi, a cop, and the couple has a daughter. He was on his way to meet a client on his daughter’s birthday. But fate has different plans for him. He met with an accident, and he finds himself in heaven when he gains consciousness. Chitragupt and Yamadoot are with him to judge his good and evil deeds. What happens next forms the rest of the story.

Star Performance

Sidharth did his part well. Ajay Devgan is good in the given role. However, he deserves a better performance-oriented role. Though he is good, for a solid performer like Ajay, this role is just ordinary.

The film has an interesting screenplay, and it is executed well. Sidharth Malhotra is a good choice and he has done a good job. The lead characters are written well and even the cameo appearances are well-made. Unlike the regular Chitragupta, Yamadoot, and the beauties in heaven, this film has given them a contemporary look and is interesting too. Though it has some comedy concepts, the film delivers some messages relating to the importance of family. The cinematography and music are good. The production designs are decent, and the film is technically sound too.

What’s There?

  • The performances are good
  • The screenplay and execution are neat

What’s Not There?

  • A few minor loopholes

Thank God is a good fantasy comedy film with pluses and minuses. This will impress you if you love watching fantasy comedy entertainers!
