Phone Bhoot is a horror-comedy drama scripted by Ravi Shankaran and Jasvinder Singh Bath and directed by Gurmmeet Singh. Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar bankrolled the film. KU Mohanan cranked the camera, and Manan Ashwin Mehta edited the film. Tanishk Bagchi, Rochak Kohli, Roy, and Mikey McCleary composed the songs and BGM. The film features Katrina Kaif, Ishaan Khattar, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Jackie Shroff, Sheeba Chadha, Nidhi Bisht, Manu Rishi Chadha, Kedar Shankar, and Manuj Sharma.
Plot
Gullu and Major are aspiring Ghostbusters. Ragini is a friendly ghost who helps them get a good profession. But, there comes an issue when Ragini wants to block Atmaram, an evil person, to save her lover. Ragini drags them into the case to help her, and the youngsters have no other go than helping her. But were they able to make it? Did Ragini save them? The rest of the film deals with this.
Star Performance
Katrina, Ishaan, and Siddhant played naturally and impressed the audience. Their chemistry is astounding. Their expressions and body language are laudable. Jackie Shroff plays a vital role and attracts the audience with his expressions and dialogue delivery. In fact, he is the fulcrum of the film, and his comedy works effectively to make the movie more interesting.
Analysis
Gurmeet’s execution is excellent. The screenplay is neat. Unlike other horror-comedy films, Phone Bhoot has a different story, gripping screenplay, and neat execution. Initially, the audience might doubt if Katrina fits well in the role. But, while watching her performance and chemistry with the boys, everyone is mind-blown. The visuals are neat, and the BGM gels well with the scenes.
