Plot

Aayush is an Assamese boy of great wealth. Ruby is from a middle-class family, and he adores her. Ruby begs Aayush to move to Bombay with her to live the opulent lifestyle of her fantasies. Ruby travels to Bombay after Aayush declines, meeting Kailash, an illegal businessman. Ruby finds out via Rehan, a friend of Aayush. After learning that Ruby is in the hands of someone who is wanted by the law, Aayush travels to Bombay to retrieve Ruby. Does Aayush accompany Ruby back? The rest of the film follows Aayush as he battles many obstacles that come his way.

Star Performance

The performances of both the lead performers, Harsh Kumar and Tullika Singh, are average and best. The supporting cast lends decent support to the stars.

Analysis

There are numerous instances in which the movie falls short. Very little in the film works, from the acting to the plot. The plot feels absurd immediately and never manages to hold the viewer's interest. There is very little character development, and the narrative that traps the people is equally lousy. The film's visual language and direction are mediocre at best. A truly aggravating experience is created by the cheesy conversation, lousy acting, annoying soundtrack, and ridiculous plotline. The movie feels forced in every way. It's an overly ambitious endeavor, and all it produces is a blatant attempt that doesn't go anywhere. It fails miserably in its attempt to be dramatic and thrilling.

The mode of expression the film chooses is loud and dramatic. And not in a good way. Emotions are always heightened but are never earned. Anything goes here. The images show an utter lack of skill or understanding of what makes the melodramatic form work. The visuals look cheap and unprofessional. There’s no texture or atmosphere in the images. It’s just loud, flashy colors all around. And when the saturated colors are mixed with the overbearing music, the results are not pleasant, to put it lightly.

What’s There?

• Some decent performances

• Nothing much of a remark is going on in the film

What’s not There?

• An engaging screenplay is severely missing

• The visuals are loud and devoid of texture

• The music actively hurts the film at times

• Dialogue writing is also noticeably bad

Verdict

It wouldn’t be overstating to say the film fails almost on all cinematic fronts. Fans of melodrama would also struggle to latch onto anything or find any virtues here. The film is nearly a complete waste of time. The audience would be better off seeking out something else.
