Gully Boy is a musical movie scripted and directed by Zoya Akhtar. It is co-scripted by Reema Kagti. The film is based on the street rappers, Naezy and Divine, who had also composed music. Ritesh Sidwani, Farhan Akhtar and Zoya produced the film on a large scale. The film stars with Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Kalki Koechlin, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Vijay Raaz, Vijay Varma, Amruta Subhash, Sheeba Chaddha and Nakul Sahdev. The dialogues are by Vijay Maurya. Jay Oza cranked the camera and Nitin Baid edited the film.


Murad is from an underprivileged family. He has a lot of interest in music and he aims to become a rapper. Murad is in love with Safeena. When he finds it hard to come up as a rapper, Shrikant crosses his path. He joins Murad in his team and the passionate start traveling towards their goal. What are the hurdles they faced? How did they cross the hurdles to move forward in their career? Watch the film in theaters!

Star Performance

Alia and Ranveer chemistry is astounding. Both of them had played excellently well. Ranveer’s natural acting adds strength to the film. Siddhant Chathurvedi has got a lot of space to prove his excellence and he had utilized it well. Kalki Koechlin and Vijay Raaz have done their part well and received appreciation for their performance.


The dialogues are emotional and excellent and thanks to Vijay Maurya. The script and the screenplay are perfect. Kudos to the team effort! The casting team should also be appreciated for choosing Ranveer as the lead artist. He carries the film on his shoulders with his flexible body language and natural acting. The music by Divine and Naezy are impressive too. Although the film is a bit lengthy, it didn’t make the audiences feel like a long film. The production and technical values are good.
