Drishyam 2 is the sequel to Drishyam and is directed by Abhishek Pathak. The story is by Jeethu Joseph, the director of the original version in Malayalam and Telugu. Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar produced Drishyam 2. "Sudhir K Chaudhary" cranked the camera and editing is by Sandeep Francis. Devi Sri Prasad composed the music. The film features Ajay Devgan, Shriya Saran, "Tabu," Akshaye Khanna, Rajat Kapoor, Ishita Dutta, Mrunal Jadhav, Rajat Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, Neha Joshi, Kamlesh Sawant, Yogesh Soman, Rajiv Kumar Aneja, and Sharad Butadiya.

Even after seven years of the traumatic event, Vijay and his family are not completely out of it. Though Vijay has become a theater owner now and has plans in producing movies with his script, his wife Nandini and daughters are still trying to run a normal life. The past events are still haunting them. They thought that the problem is settled, but only they are still in the memories. But, they don't know that ex-IG Meera and the present IG Tarun Ahlawat would dig the case again. What happened to Vijay's family when the IG deal the case from a different perception? The rest of the film deals with this.

Star Performance

Ajay steals the show with his stunning performance as a loving father. Tabu is impressive as usual. Her expressions and body language are quite decent. Shriya is good too. Akshaye and Rajat have done their part well. Saurabh Shukla has got an interesting role and he did it gracefully.

The film starts a bit slower, like Drishyam. However, it started moving at the right pace after a particular sequence. Lots of twists are waiting for the audience, like its first version. The tension is well-built and maintained until the end, thanks to the screenplay writers. The investigation processes are well shot, making the audience glued to the seats biting their nails. As the characters are well-designed and the right actors are employed, it gives a complete thriller-watching experience. The BGM by DSP is decent, and the cinematography is good.

What's There?

  • The performances of the leads are fantastic
  • The visuals and BGM add thrill to the script
  • The characters are penned well

What's Not There?

  • There are a few flaws in some lengthy scenes

It is really a tough job to remake a hit film, and the most challenging part is to do a sequel to it. But, the director has tried his best to bring an exciting film, and hopefully, he got his success. So, not only Ajay fans but all thriller movie fans can try this!
