Plot

Gangaram Choudhary is the CM of Harit Pradesh. When his name gets top of the scam list, he has to lose his throne. So, he appoints his wife, Vimla Devi, as an acting CM. Although Vimla is not interested in taking oath as the CM due to the cheap politics, she gets attracted to it for the fame and power. Following this, Gangaram is kept in prison for a long. The Jail Superintendent, who doesn’t favor him for being a politician, allows him to study as she feels that education is the only thing that brings knowledge. What happens next? Will the former CM grab his throne again? The rest of the story deals with this.

Star Performance

Abhishek Bachchan has done a great job. His expressions and body language are fantastic. Nimrat did justice to the given role. Yami is neat as a cop. She should be appreciated for picking up solid roles and giving her fullest.

Analysis

The film is loosely based on the life of a popular politician. The director has taken a political comedy as the base script and has given a good performance-oriented role for Abhishek. Abhishek has done his best and earns appreciation from the audience. However, the film lacks the punch. Many political dialogues intended for the politicians didn’t have any grip and fell flat. However, a few work out. Similarly, we can’t believe how a corrupted politician becomes a do-gooder overnight. Some of the characters are not designed well. Hence some actors didn’t have much to do on screen.
