Accident on Hill Road is the remake of ‘Stuck’, a Hollywood flick.
Sonam (Celina Jaitly) is a carefree girl who is a nurse by profession. She has a boyfriend, Sid (Abhimanyu Singh), who is a drug dealer. One day, after a party, she steers into an ordinary man, Prakash (Farooq Sheik). Terrified by the thought of facing police charges, she leaves him on the bonnet of the car and rushes home. Due to the fear of ruining her career, she and her boyfriend think that killing him is the only solution. What happens later forms the crux of the story.
The director does an okay job, but loses the plot in the middle. The first half is racy with twists and turns. but the jagged screenplay ruins the second half. Some unnecessary characters are introduced. Things get worse during the climax. Music is okay with a single song. The film is not as suspenseful as it should be.
Celina Jaitly does a good job playing the anxious woman, but the act feels comical at times. Abhimanyu Singh is forced to look cool, which actually doesn’t work. Farooq Sheik has nothing much to do. It is a pity to see such an eminent actor reduced to being the victim.
1. Celina Jaitly’s jittery act.
2. Good first half.
What’s not there?
1. Strong screenplay.
2. Nail-biting climax.
An average movie to pass the time. Better stick with ‘Stuck’.
