12 O Clock is directed and produced by Ram Gopal Varma. The film features Mithun Chakraborty, Manav Kaul, Makarand Deshpande, Flora Saini, Dilip Tahil, Krishna Gautam, Ali Sagar and Ashish Vidyarthi. MM Keeravani composed the music. Amol Rathod cranked the camera.

Plot

Gauri is a young college going girl, who experiences nightmares often. She also walks in sleep. But, none of her family members are aware of her situation. Although they don’t know about her sleepwalk, they doubt her behavior that has changed in recent days. What is her problem? Is that a psychological issue or is she possessed by some ghost? The answers form the rest of the story.

Star Performance

The film has good performance artists. But they are not given the right roles and situations to expose their talent.

Analysis

The movie starts with some murders and a serial killer. When people started thinking that something interesting is approaching, they are disappointed by RGV’s weak characters and screenplay. The lead stars didn’t have any chemistry between them. The subplots are not derived properly. One by one, the characters are introduced and it made the people wait for the right story. But, the narration didn’t satisfy the audience. Mithun didn’t have anything strong in this story to showcase his acting skill. Almost all the stars are highly talented and they had acted as a stimulator in the films that they had performed so far. But, this film might have shocked even them. However, in certain scenes, they had a chance to showcase, especially Makarand Deshpande. The BGM by Keeravani is fantastic and it gels well with cinematography in some spooky scenes.

What’s There?

  • Good star cast, neat cinematography and BGM

What’s Not There?

  • Incomplete characterization
  • Weak narration

Verdict

If you are a fan of RGV, you can try this film. However, people who had watched his earlier films will definitely find it tough to digest the fact that 12 O'Clock is directed by RGV.
