The Legend of Tarzan is not a beginning story. This movie features Alexander Skarsgard Alexander Skarsgard is a Swedish-American actor. Also, Djimon Hounsou Djimon Hounsou is an actor from Benin, which is a >> Read More... plays the role of an African tribal chief, all with a leopard head as a crown and claws over his fists, who, for personal enmity, wants Tarzan killed.

Plot: The story begins where Clayton/Tarzan is living in Greystoke Manor with his beautiful Jane and is respected as a member of a prestigious committee. This film commences in 1884, with King Leopold II of Belgium, reigns power over an African tribe in the jungle and endeavors to use its assets for his kingdom. After five years, the kingdom is drawing close to bankruptcy after terrorizing, enslaving and exploiting the population. So, Leopold sends Leon Rom, his loyal representative to capture of the locals and to import a professional fighter who could be used by them.

Rom strikes an arrangement for jewels with a fierce native chief who asks for the death of the wild child of the jungle, Tarzan and Rom then brings him back to the tribal area by kidnapping Jane. Tarzan and Jane find themselves as pawns in Rom’s complicated and devious plot against the tribe. Mbonga, the chief, holds resentment against Tarzan, which precise flashbacks reveal. We also see Tarzan's initial years as an orphan raised by primates, and his life as a vine-swinging man-beast. Amid the long, an intense pursue over the mainland; Rom finds he yearns for Jane, so he tries to seduce her while keeping her kidnapped and simultaneously plotting to kill her husband.

Analysis: David Yates, the director, makes a thoughtful decision to assume that everybody knows who John Clayton or Tarzan is. This movie isn’t about the origin of Tarzan at all, but well-set flashbacks show the basics of how he became Tarzan and the Lord of the Jungle. This movie, instead, portrays a different, rather ‘original’ storyline which is quite fascinating. This new film is more practical, (giving out messages about the socio-political scenario back in the 1880s, feminism, and anti-inferiority) than quite a lot of the old Tarzan stories, and it managed to deliver scenes which enthusiasts of this famous man-beast desired: Tarzan in action, i.e. swinging from vines and yelling his infamous cry.

What's There:

1. The new plot is fresh for the audience and a unique transition of the famous Tarzan story.

2. Stunning visuals. There are computer generated animals, and scenic backdrops are captivating, taking the audience back to the 1880s.

3. The stuntmen have done a spectacular job, so have the screenwriters and the director.

What's Not There:

1. The computer generated animals are either in the rain or mist thus, in comparison to The Jungle Book Click to look into! >> Read More... , the artists could have done a better job.

2. William’s character is shown inferior to Tarzan, merely as a comical sidekick.

3. Similarly, Jane rather awkwardly represents the new era of women onscreen: a feminist, and a woman who will stand up for herself. But no matter how confident and efficient Margot Robbie is, her role in the could not be defined to more than a pawn.

Verdict: If you’re bored of the usual Tarzan jazz, and would like to watch a fresh, creative, “original” Tarzan story, this one is for you.
