Plot

Theodore Decker lost his mother in a terrorist attack in a museum. He was just 13 at the time of the attack. As his father had already abandoned him, Theodore doesn’t know where to go. Except for his estranged friend, Andy, Theodore has none in the city. So, he rejoins him and Andy’s mom becomes close to Theodore. Theo has a painting from the museum with him. After eight years, Theo goes back to his hometown to visit Andy and family. Andy’s elder brother says that Andy and his father died in an accident. Andy’s sister starts loving Theo, but Theo didn’t have any interest. Meanwhile, he loses his Goldfinch. What are the steps Theo takes to get it back? Did he recover it? Whom did he marry? Star Performance

Oakes Fegley, who plays the young Theo did a stunning job. Ansel Elgort is good with his sensible expressions. Luke Wilson, Sarah Paulson, Nicole and Jeffery Wright had done their part well.

Analysis

The director perfectly pictured the feeling of a youngster, who becomes homeless all on a sudden. The movie shows all kinds of people in a single frame. While his estranged friend makes a friendship again and his parents are ready to adopt him, the film tries to reveal that humanity exists. When the long chase is for life, we feel how people suffer to lead a simple life. The film has a lot of philosophies, but they are explained in simple terms. The movie is good in the technical as well as the production side.
