Raya And The Last Dragon is an animated film directed by Don Hall and Carlos López Estrada. Paul Briggs and John Ripa co-directed the film. The film has the voice cast of Kelly Marie Tran, Awkwafina, Gemma Chan, Daniel Dae Kim, Sandra Oh, Benedict Wong, Izaac Wang, Thalia Tran, Alan Tudyk, Lucille Soong, Patti Harrison, Ross Butler, Dumbfoundead, Sung Kang, Jona Xiao, Gordon Ip, Dichen Lachman, Sierra Katow, François Chau and Paul Yen. Walt Disney Pictures and Walt Disney Animation Studios produced the film on a large scale. James Newton Howard composed the music.
Fabienne Rawley and Shannon Stein edited the film.
Kumandra is a special world where the humans and dragons lived together peacefully. Druun, the sinister monsters, threatened the existence of the land. Raya, the Princess, makes effort to destroy the monsters. However, the dragons had to take the hard decision to save the land. What was the decision? What happened to the Kumandra people? The rest of the story deals with it.
The voice-over stars had given their best and brought the characters to life. Kelly Marie Tran’s voice fits the warrior queen well. When she utters in high pitch, we couldn’t think that it is an animation movie.
All the characters are written well and shaped up fantastically. The music composition by Howard is awesome. The BGM gels well with the story and takes us to Kumandra. The film's main plus point is the voice and all the stars put their fullest effort to make the audience feel it as real. Making an animation movie is not that easy and emotions are very much important. The animation works are awe-inspiring and all the emotions are perfectly brought.
What’s Not There?
Raya And The Last Dragon is a treat to fantasy and animation movie lovers and will definitely attract children.
