Mafia Inc. Movie Review

 Plot

The Paterno Mafia family has worn clothing made by the Gamache family of tailors for three generations. Vincent "Vince" Gamache works for Frank, the godfather with his oldest son Giaco. Vince is hasty and careless, and he wants to impress the godfather to earn his stripes. He executes a significant operation covertly and gains promotion. Giaco learns that Vince performed a horrific thing behind his back and becomes furious with jealousy. He is abandoned by the Gamache, and the conflict starts.

Star Performance

Gangsta films always require strong performances as each character has their own style and attitude. Sergio Castellito as, Frank, the godfather is absolutely stunning and presents the aura expected of him. His performance is a stand out of the film. Marc-Andre Grondin also delivers a strong performance and expresses all the emotions very well. Gilbert Sicotte as the family lawyer and Mylene Mackay as a journalist also looked very convincing in their performances. Supporting actors Donny Falsetti and Vittorio Rossi also suited their characters.

Analysis

Crime drama is a genre that falls in the massy segment to watch and always has expectations of a power-packed experience. And given the movie is adapted from the novel Mafia Inc: The Long, Bloody Reign of Canada’s Sicilian Clan heightens up the expectations more. Mafia Inc is setting up the mafia world perfectly with a crime family working in Montreal. The movie has very strong characters, each with their style, and is very well complemented by the acting. The story of the movie also elevates it and doesn’t go down as a movie only about the characters. The cinematography also captures good shades of Montreal with flashy set pieces giving a perfect environment. The music by Milk and Bone is also a good support and is very effective to the world created. The movie never goes dull and is easily watchable despite its long length as it grips you till the end. A little complaint that can be given is the brutal violence it deals with, which although expected in this genre, and be over the line for some.
