Ghostbusters 3, exhibits an exciting keynote in which horror is perfectly mixed with comedy. Paul Feig (The Director) is trying to amalgamate the idea of the mere existence of Ghosts in the present Scenario, popularly known as the Contemporary world. It indeed is a great come back, with a new & hysterical bunch of actors.
Plot: Kristen Wiig (Dr. Erin Gilbert) and Melissa Mc Carthy (Dr. Abby Yates) are the co-authors of a book which postulates the existence of Ghosts, living in a contemporary era proves to be extremely unlucky for them because the book remains unpopular. Kate continues with her enthralling research on paranormal at a technical college with an aberrant engineer Dr. Jillian Holtzmann (Kate McKinnon), While Gilbert becomes a teacher at Columbia University.
A Few Years Later, the same book gets republished jeopardizing Gilbert’s reputation and reuniting the two, works as a substitution for getting the book out of publication, thus agreeing to help Yates and Holtzmann on an investigation related to paranormal. The research takes a 360-degree turn for Gilbert when they encounter a pernicious ghost; problems flourish when they are all dismissed from Academia because their video gets posted online. Courageous and curious, they still continue with the research and come up with the “"Department of the Metaphysical Examination", establishing their new work space above a Chinese restaurant. The group begins to test the Holtzmann's proton containment laser, but their proof is rejected.
Regardless of the reversal of fortune, they stick to develop their ghost containment technology and promote their services as what pundits are calling "Ghostbusters.” Dr. Martin Heiss (Bill Murray) calls for a roof of the ghostbuster’s claims, Gilbert, instantly releases the ghost from containment, and it flicks Heiss out of the window, even before he could even escape. The Ghostbusters are called to see Mayor Bradley (Andy García), who is completely pretending to keep the City’s ghost problem a little secret, but he publicly declaims the team as frauds. They realize that Rowan North (Neil Casey), an occultist is rooting his devices along the ley lines which converge at the Mercado Hotel in downtown Manhattan, a spot with a scary history of paranormal activity, and find out that Rowan is building a portal to the ghost section in the hotel basement.
Rowan comes back as a paramount spirit, possessing Yates first and then Kevin, and then returns to the Mercado to open the portal, which procreates manny ghosts and dumps the city into darkness. Rowan suddenly goes on a spree of destroying the city, and it becomes uncontrollable to put a halt on his behavior. The Mayor's office continues denouncing the Ghostbusters but secretly continues to offer funds to upgrade their headquarters and for their research, so that they can resolve the future paranormal threats. In spite of the smear movement, New York City shimmers up with honor and appreciation to the Ghostbusters.
Analysis: A miraculous comedy, with a pinch of scientific logics, entertains the audience thoroughly. Parks and Recreation and The Heat Written by Katie dipole has successfully won all the hearts. In the initial stage of Ghostbusters-3, you’ll expect a little horror, but eventually, you’ll realize that it has much more to offer, it may not come under the list of your favorites, but it is a one time watch. Some people may feel that this movie is a little off track, but the charm of all the actors and the devastating Visual effects will make the watch worth it. The star cast has throughout been very energetic. It undeniably is a long-awaited return.
Star Performances: Kristen Carroll Wiig, a young and a beautiful lady with so much confidence has indeed done justice to the role she has played. She is known for Bridesmaids and Despicable me 2, she somehow fits in, and makes the movie worthwhile. Melissa McCarthy, remarkably known for Mike&Molly an American Sitcom, entertained the audience with her marvelous performance. Kate McKinnon and Leslie Jones were fabulous; all these four women did a great job in their so-called Ghost Fetching Business. Neil Casey has done a splendid job. A cute villain is what we can call him after watching this movie.
1. The Cinematography done by Robert D. Yeoman is outstanding.
2. It is astonishing, but there are 360 people behind these amazing visual effects, which are being appreciated by the people.
3. A Science fiction, with a little horror & comedy sets a new combination in the film industry.
4. Four women, in the lead role, is a must watch.
What’s not there?
1. A little monotonous is what the movie gets after a while.
2. At some level, it does lack Variety.
3. The Balance between logic & reality is missing.
Verdict: If you’re a die-hard fan of Visual effects, then Ghostbusters 3 is what you can watch.
