Deep Water is a psychological thriller scripted by Zach Helm and Sam Levinson and directed by Adrian Lyne. Eigil Bryld cranked the camera, and Andrew Mondshein and Tim Squyres edited the film. Arnon Milchan, Steven Zaillian, Garrett Basch, Guymon Casady, Ben Forkner, Anthony Katagas, and Philipp Keel produced the film. The film features Ben Affleck, Ana de Armas, Tracy Letts, Lil Rel Howery, Dash Mihok, Finn Wittrock, Kristen Connolly, Jacob Elordi, Rachel Blanchard, Grace Jenkins, Jade Fernandez, Michael Braun, Brendan C. Miller, Devyn Tyler, Jeff Pope, and Michael Scialabba.
Plot
Vic and Melinda Van Allen are husband and wife. They reside in Little Wesley. Though they are married, their life as a couple isn’t interesting. Vic doesn’t like to divorce her, instead allows Melinda to have multiple affairs. Soon, Melinda’s lovers began to disappear, and Vic was suspected. Malcolm McRae was one of Melinda’s lovers, and he was murdered. Vic confesses that he killed McRae when the real killer is not revealed. Why did he admit that he killed Malcolm? What was Melinda’s reaction to this? The rest of the film deals with it.
Star Performance
Ben Affleck did justice to the given role. Ana de Armas is neat on her part. The rest of the stars did what was required.
Analysis
While starting, the film seems to have a simple plot. After McRae’s death, we could see that they have entered into a psychological path. However, certain scenes didn’t have a proper explanation. Though something went interestingly in the middle of the film, the climax is pretty predictable. Some characters are finely penned, while some are not. The BGM is neat, and the visuals are impressive. The editing is okay. The film is technically sound, and the production values are high.

Verdict
Though the film has a few pluses and minuses, it has some good performances. If we sideline the flaws, we will get a good thriller experience.
