Plot

Haley Keller is a good swimmer. She comes to know that a severe hurricane is approaching Florida and it will definitely make a severe loss. Haley’s dad Dave lives in that area and hence she calls him to vacate the place as soon as possible. But, she couldn’t reach him over the phone. So, she sets out to help her dad. Although the police warned her, she decided to save her dad from the hurricane. She reached his home and found him in the basement of the house. But, he was unconscious and attacked by alligators. To save her father, she had to get into the water. Did she save her dad? Watch the film to know the rest.

Star Performance

Kaya Scodelario and Barry Pepper had done a great job as the daughter and father.

Analysis

The story has nothing big and it is very simple. The screenplay and the execution make the audiences to get a good impression. Although certain scenes are predictable, the BGM and the cinematography are excellent. The director should be appreciated for showing the bonding between the father and daughter. The reason why they are separated for so many years is also said in the movie. The visual effects are superb and it is the driving force in the film.
