PLOT: Zac Efron Zac Efron is the debonair screen icon in Hollywood >> Read More... tries to sneak out of his house, in spite of his mom's order to take care of his brother, Charlie Tahan. Charlie catches Zac and asks Zac to drop him at his friend's house. Unfortunately, they meet with an accident, and Charlie dies on the spot. But Zac was able to see and feel Charlie's soul around him. As they had promised, they play baseball daily in the woods. Zac meets with Amanda Crew, a lone sailor, and falls in love with her. But Charlie's soul says that more her involvement, less Zac will be in touch with him. So Zac starts avoiding Amanda. But after a few days, when she goes missing he feels like it is unusual. He is in the dilemma of being with his brother or go for Amanda. Will he be able to go for her?

ANALYSIS: The director is unclear on which track to proceed the movie further. The strong emotions are overruled by misplaced humor, and it spoils the feel. The protagonist's grief and his love are totally puzzled. The narration happened to be a major drawback. More motivational lines are used; that becomes hard to accept after a certain time. Overuse of cliches is done in the movie. This alone helps in delivering the strong emotions in the movie.

STAR PERFORMANCES: This will be Zac's opportunity to do a different role from the usual ones. His role's character has to face intense situations in the movie. So it was expected that Zac will perform another dimension of his acting. Though he possesses the potential, this was not the right role to out bring it. Amanda's role has got nothing to be specially mentioned. In fact, the chemistry between her and Zac was secondary. Charlie's role is a very sensitive one. He has managed to give a top notch performance. Though the humor was misplaced, he expressed his emotions at the right time, and in the right amounts.

WHAT'S THERE? The visuals are something to look out for. They are stunning and breathtaking. The forest, the sea along the line, etc. are blissful. Even the locality is shown with each and every detail of aesthetic captured beautifully.

WHAT'S NOT THERE? Though the indie music was good, it was a bit distracting. The score gave an overdramatic feel to the scenes and annoyed a large part of the audience.

VERDICT: The movie is a sure shot hit if it there was more concentration in performance by the artists.
