When Drew Barrymore She first appeared in the Steven Spielberg’s movie >> Read More... and Adam Sandler Humour is the thing that emphasizes the character >> Read More... come together for the third time as a romantic couple, we see the story of their two families get united on a holiday trip to South Africa in many hilarious and heart-warming ways, where their amazing on-screen chemistry is like icing on the cake.

Plot: Jim Freidman (Sandler), a widower with three daughters, meets Lauren Reynolds (Barrymore), the single mother of two sons, on a blind date that ends very badly. In spite of that, they come across each other again coincidentally as they had signed up for the holiday package for a familymoon in the Sun City Resort in South Africa. In this resort, they both get to meet each other’s kids and start bonding with them and soon come to realize that Jim and Lauren are more like the missing pieces in each other’s family and just when things seem to be going right, they take an unexpected turn.

Adam Sandler’s comedy may have been criticized a lot in other movies where the attempts to make people laugh was by using some disgusting elements like vomit and very inappropriate jokes. However, in this movie he is more of a father and a complete family man than he is a satirical comic relief. His chemistry with Drew Barrymore would make you wish they had made more movies together because the scenes in which they are together are very natural and free-flowing. However, the twists and turns of the movie are what seemed to be coming in between their chemistry and ruining at times. The performances of the child-actors were also very commendable, and fortunately, they didn’t have to participate in any over-the-top slapstick and could be what they were supposed to be in the movie, kids.

The movie is a very comfortable watch which has a lot of puzzling twists in the first half which results in them coming together for the vacation, but things seem to be slowly smoothening themselves out in the second half.

Verdict: To this yet another Adam Sandler comedy, which is a much more easy-breezy watch compared to his previous comedies, and a fresh experience as it tries to bring together, two families, instead of just focusing on one-liners, I give this movie 3 out of 5 victories.
