Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day is an American comedy film released in 2014. It is based on a children’s book of the same name. As twisted and tangled the name sounds, the movie does complete justice to it.

Plot:

Alexander Cooper played by Ed Oxenbould is an ordinary eleven-year-old kid. His life is always messed up, and he keeps on facing some or the other mishaps.

Just a day before his 12th birthday he wakes up, and quite a lot weird things happen with him. Later at school, his friends ditch him for his birthday party and plan to go to the lavish birthday party of Phillip Parker. After getting home, he gets very disappointed when he hears his older brother calling him an ‘idiot brother' over the phone while talking to his girlfriend Celia (Bella Throne) He gets quite disheartened and upset when nobody in the house pays heed to what he had to say about his miserable day. He then wishes that his family could experience the disappointments he does every day.

The very next morning he wakes up to find out his family in a total dishevelment and chaos. The movie then revolves around how each family member has their own Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. In the end, Alexander confesses that the family’s day was jinxed because of this ill wishes. The family consoles him, and finally, they celebrate Alexander’s birthday and wish for more such days together.

Analysis:

The movie is an amalgamation of drama and comedy. There is no point during the movie where one will get bored. Though this flick is highly recommended for children, adults and oldies too can make the most of it.

Verdict:

If you are looking forward to spending some fun time with your family then this movie should be on your list.
