It earned 82.1 million US dollars at the box office by spending an amount of 35 million US dollars.

PLOT:

The story revolves around the suburbs of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania. Nathan Harper (role played by Taylor Lautner) and Karen Murphy (role played by Lily Collins) are high school seniors. Nathan lives with his parents in the city and is secretly in love with his schoolmate, Karen. Nathan suffers from nightmares that trouble him a lot. His father takes him to a psychiatrist called, Dr. Geraldine Bennett (role played by Sigourney Weaver Sigourney Weaver, Hollywood Film, and Television A >> Read More... ) for treatment. Soon, Nathan and Karen discover a website that has a list of missing children for their high school project, and they get to know that a kid named Steven Price, who resembled Nathan, was on the list of missing kids’ on the website. Nathan doubts whether his parents are actually his biological parents, and he gets to know the truth when he confronts his parents. Two intruders reach Nathan’s house, and kill his mother and father. They capture Karen, and when Nathan returns to save Karen, his house is exploded by a bomb. Nathan calls the cops for help, but he gets to know that a few people are after him. Dr. Bennett saves Nathan and Karen, and she takes them to the place where Martin, Nathan’s biological father lives. Dr. Bennett explains everything to Nathan- that Martin has a list of 25 CIA operatives that are corrupt. He then tries to search for the address of his mother, Lorna Price, and boards a train with Karen to visit her. After reaching, they find out that Lorna died when Nathan was three years old. The corrupt operatives of CIA hunt down Nathan and Karen to retrieve the list from Martin. Nathan and Karen escape, but they catch Karen’s parents, threatening to kill them. They fix a meeting at a baseball stadium called PNC Park. One of the operatives, Kozlow, chases Nathan, but then Kozlow gets killed by Martin and all the other corrupt people get arrested. Martin calls Nathan to apologize, but does not show up in front of Nathan. Nathan lives with Dr. Bennett and dates Karen at the end of the movie.

ANALYSIS:

The movie did not receive much positive appraisal from the critics and the audience, despite the popular star cast. The movie got nominations for the Golden Reel Award for the ADR and Dialogues in a feature film.

STAR PERFORMANCES:

The movie has many renowned actors like Taylor Lautner, Lily Collins, Jason Isaacs, and Alfred Molina. Taylor Lautner being the lead role in the film acted remarkably. The acting of Lily Collins and Jason Isaacs was also pretty good. The overall aggregate of the picture did not reach up to the mark. The storyline was weak, which lead to the ineffective role of actors like Jason Isaacs and Alfred Molina.
