Tamil’s Traditional Dance Oyilattam Gets A Place In Guinness!

Oyilattam is a dance form of ancient Tamils. As the latest western dance forms emerged, the traditional forms had been written off by the people. To save the traditional dance forms, the Tamil culture enthusiasts had been taking huge efforts and one such effort is to make Oyilattam get a place in the Guinness book of world records. Thirunindravur Jaya College had become a popular name now. Yes, 1415 people danced the traditional Oyilattam in the college campus for eight minutes. “Velmurugan” had taken the initiative along with Jaya College and Swarangalin Sangamam. Minister “K Pandiarajan,” Gangai Amaran, James Vasanthan, “Piraisoodan,” Thambi Ramaiah, Vel Siva, Sowmiya Rajesh and Vivek of Guinness team witnessed the Oyilattam dance. It is really a pride moment that a Tamil dance form gets international recognition.
