Kandukondain Kandukondain is one of the remarkable movies in the career of Ajith Kumar. Although he had been playing in romantic hero roles, this movie proved his excellence in various emotions. Rajiv Menon directed Kandukondain Kandukondain and he stated that he initially approached Prashanth Thyagarajan for Ajith’s Manohar character. He narrated the story to Prashanth. But, due to some creative difference, Rajiv Menon moved from Prashanth to Ajith. Ajith nodded to do the movie immediately after listening to the script. The rest is history.

The audience still celebrates the movie and Rajiv Menon stated that he receives calls even now when the film is telecast on TV channels and he also thanked the TV channels for making the movie evergreen in the minds of the people. Rajiv also stated that he approached “R Parthiepan” for the role of Bala, done by “Mammootty.” But, due to date issues, Parthiepan couldn’t do it. Aishwarya Rai’s role had also passed many actresses, including Manju Warrier, stated Rajiv.
