Not all the celebs impress the audience. But, a few touch their souls with their performance, charisma, and character. Losing the favorite celebrities all of a sudden is a great shock to any fan. Here is the list of a few stars from the South Indian film industry, who we lost recently.

Puneeth Rajkumar

This stylish icon from the Kannada movie industry was a multi-talented personality. He surprised his fans many times with his visit. The sudden death of this fitness freak due to a cardiac arrest on 29th October 2021 shocked everyone, and a couple of his fans died due to a heart attack after hearing his death news. Puneeth was just 46.

Vivek

"Vivek," the multi-talented actor, was also a social activist. An ardent follower of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Vivek had been planting the saplings to make the environment greener and pollution-free. The Padma Shri awardee passed away on 17th April 2021, leaving everyone shocked. He died due to a heart attack. Even before a couple of days of his death, he was active on social media platforms. He was just 59.

SP Jananathan

The National Award-winning director, SP Jananathan, was 61. Before his movie "Laabam," featuring Vijay Sethupathi and Shruti Haasan released, he passed away due to a cardiac arrest on 14th March 2021.

Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry

Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry was one of the leading lyricists in the Telugu movie industry. He had grabbed 11 Nandi Awards and Filmfare Awards for his excellent lyrics in Tollywood films. He died on 30th November 2021 due to lung cancer.

Nedumudi Venu

Venu was one of the versatile actors from the Malayalam industry. He had played in Tamil films too. He was honored by the Indian government with National Awards thrice for his excellence in acting. He died on 11th October 2021 due to liver cancer. He was recovering from covid19 but succumbed to liver cancer. He was 73.

Chithra

"Chithra," popularly known as Nallennai Chithra, after she played in the gingelly oil ad, was just 56 when she died due to a cardiac arrest on 21st August 2021. She was a multilingual actress, famous in almost all the South Indian languages. She started her career as a child artist and had played in 100+ films in character roles.

Nitish Veera

Nitish Veera was a Tamil actor who started carving a niche for him in Kollywood with his performance-oriented roles. He turned popular after playing the son of Superstar “Rajinikanth” in Kaala Karikalan. He died due to the covid-19 attack on 17th May 2021. He was just 45.

K V Anand

The legendary cinematographer turned director "K V Anand" impressed the Tamil audience with his unique genre films like "Ko," "24," "Maattraan," "Kavan," and "Kaappaan." He died due to a cardiac arrest while getting treatment for covid-19. He died on 30th April 2021 and was just 54.

Jayanthi

"Jayanthi," the veteran multilingual actress, was mainly known for her excellent acting skills in Tamil and Kannada. She had also played in Malayalam, Marathi, Hindi, and Telugu films. She received multiple awards, including the two National Awards and four Karnataka State Awards for the Best Actress. She was fondly addressed as Abhinaya Sharade. She died on 26th July 2021 due to age-related ailments. Jayanthi was 76.

Shiva Shankar

Shiva Shankar Master is famous for his graceful dance choreography in South Indian films. Besides Tamil and Telugu films, he had worked in 8 other movie industries as a choreographer. He was famous for his choreography in Poove Unakkaga, a "Vijay" film, "Ammoru," a mythological fantasy film featuring Ramya Krishnan and Soundarya Raghu, Suriyavamasam, Thiruda Thirudi, "Arundhati" and "Baahubali." He had also acted in a few movies. Shiva Shankar Master died due to a covid-19 attack on 28th November 2021. He was 72.
