One of the best feature films ever in Malayalam, Celluloid directed by Kamal won numerous accolades including one National and seven State Awards in 2012. It stars Prithviraj and Mamta Mohandas in the lead to tell the story of the father of Malayalam cinema. The movie won the Best Feature Film Award in the 2012 National Awards Ceremony. Produced by Prime Time Cinema, it also received many critical acclaims from the part of the audience, and made a box-office collection of 4.57 crores.
With a gripping story of the torture and troubles faced by foreign maids in UAE, this picture directed by Kamal proved to be a great commercial and critical success. It has Kavya Madhavan in the lead role as the character Aswathi for which she received a State Award. Biju Menon, Suraj Venjaramood, Sreenivasan, and Murali Gopi appear as other characters. Inspired by the experiences of maids in Arabic mansions, this film leaves the audience crying at the end.

A blockbuster film of the year 199, Niram is a romantic evergreen hit directed by Kamal. With Kunchako Boban and Shalini in the lead, it tells the story of an unusual love relationship between two friends. Remade in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi, it made commercial success in all these languages. Jomol, Lalu Alex, Devan, Bindu Panicker, and Ambika played other roles in it. The songs of this picture composed by Vidyasagar also proved to be super hits.
9. Azhakiya Ravanan
A super hit film of the year 1996; Azhagiya Ravanan directed by Kamal won him much appreciation. It has Mammootty, Sreenivasan, Bhanupriya, and Biju Menon in the lead. In this picture, Mammootty appears as the character Shankar Das, a rich man who is in pursuit of producing a cinema. It comes up with a rags-to-riches story that impresses the audience. The songs of this film composed by Vidyasagar also became famous.
10. Ayal Kadha Ezhuthukayanu
With Mohanlal and Sreenivasan in the lead, this movie directed by Kamal became a box-office hit in the year 1998. It has Nandini as the heroine. In this picture, Mohanlal plays the character Sagar Kottapuram, who is a renowned journalist, and Sreenivasan appears as Ramakrishnan, a Tahsildar. The screenplay of Sreenivasan and story of Siddique contributed to the success of the picture.
