Talking about child artists, the first person who comes to our mind is ‘Kishan’. He was born on 6th January, 1996, in Bangalore, to the couple Shrikanth H.R. and Shylaja Shrikanth. He has a younger sister named Kiran. Not belonging to family with a filmy background, he has achieved a lot in the Kannada film industry at a very young age. He completed his 10th standard with a distinction of 93% from Camlin English School. As he wanted to continue in the field of movie making, he wrote a letter to the government seeking permission to join the masters program at Wiztoonz College of Media & Design, Bangalore. He had to convince many authorities and had to undergo many tests in order to get eligibility. He finally succeeded in everything and is the youngest person to hold a masters degree.

Kishan, before directing a film, had acted in many films and serials. He entered the Kannada industry at a very young age and proved himself to be born talented. He then went on to direct a film adapted from the short story he had written in the year 2006, at a tender age of ten. The film’s plot revolves around the life of an orphan; how an old lady looks after a child whom she found on the streets, how the boy on growing up builds a desire to get educated and how he succeeded against all odds of life. He casted Jackie Shroff, Sudeep, Tara and many other famous actors to his film, and won all their hearts through his way of thinking and direction. He played the lead role, and he named the movie as “C/O Footpath”.

This movie has won a lot of awards including Best Children’s Film in the 54th National Film Awards. This young prodigy has won a huge number of awards too including various international awards. He has also found a place in the Guinness Book of World Records as the youngest director to direct a feature film. We wish him all the best for his future.
