Thanks to the outstanding work of top cinematographers, Kollywood has seen a significant evolution in its cinematography in recent years. Here is a list of some top Kollywood directors of photography who have proven themselves.

1. PC Sreeram:

PC Sreeram is an Indian film cinematographer who works predominately in Indian films. This talented cinematographer's greatest strength is his sparing use of light. For those who don't know, he is regarded in Kollywood as the "Guru of Cinematography." The films Kuruthipunal, Mouna Ragam, and Agni Nakshatram are only a few of his best cinematography efforts. He has also experimented with directing. He won a national award for the best cinematographer for Nayakan.

2. Santosh Sivan:

Outstanding cinematography is synonymous with Santosh Sivan. In actuality, he has won four National prizes. Some of his notable works are Thalapathi, Siraichalai, Roja, and Iruvar. Santosh Sivan has also won recognition on a global scale.

3. Rajiv Menon:

The works of this excellent filmmaker and cinematographer contain a certain enchantment. He has an eye for beauty, and his films are full of creativity. Under Mani Ratnam's direction, his cinematography is outstanding. He is a talented cinematographer, and some of his best films include Guru, Kadal, and Bombay.

4. Nirav Shah:

With his ability to transport us to Madrasapattinam's version of 1947 Chennai, Nirav Shah has established a solid reputation in recent years. His other significant works are Billa, Tamizh Padam, Deiva Thirumagal, Sarvam, and Pokkiri. An Indian cinematographer named R.D. Rajasekhar shoots movies in Indian Languages in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Hindi. His successful film includes Minnale, Citizen, Kaakha Kaakha, Ghajini, Sillunu Oru Kadhal, and Irumugan.

7. Ravi Varman:

Ravi Varman is a renowned director of photography. Kamal Haasan's movies, such as Dasavatharam and Vettaiyadu Vilaiyadu, he has proven his mettle. He has done amazing camerawork in Autograph. His frames are a visual pleasure.

8. Ravi K Chandran:

This talented cameraman has more than 20 years of experience. He has demonstrated his abilities in Hindi films as well as south Indian languages. Some of the projects of "Ravi K Chandran" are Anniyan, Ghajini, and Kannathil Muthamittal.

9. Velraj:

This excellent director is also a skilled cinematographer. However, he reiterates that his only preference is the cinematography. He didn't mind playing both the director and the cinematographer in the hugely successful movie Velaiyilla Pattadhari. Other than Veilaiyilla Pattadhari, his admirable achievements are Polladhavan, Engeyum Eppodhum, and Aadukalam.

10. George C. Williams:

Indian cinematographer George C. Williams works in the Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam film industries. His movies include Raja Rani, Kaththi, Theri, Hero, and Sardar.
