Mano

Mano (Real name- Nagoor Babu) is a famous South Indian playback singer. He was not only a great singer but also a voice-over artist, an actor, a producer, a television anchor and a music composer. He was born to Father Rasool (Musician in All India Radio) and Mother Shaheeda (stage actress) on 26th October 1963 in Satterapalli, Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, he joined the stage theater and had role played as many historical characters. As he had said in an interview “I have always been impressed by my dear mother’s talent and she has always been and will always be my inspiration.”

In the year 1984, he recorded his debut original for the Tamil movie “Karpoora Deepam”. Impressed by his singing skills and his magical voice he was approached by A.R Rahman in 1994 with the offer to sing a duet song with singer Swarnalatha. And for the record, that duet song is none other than the very famous “Mukkabla” in the movie Kadhalan. He has also dubbed more than 500 songs and voice dubbed many famous actors like Rajnikanth, Kamal Hassan. He has a wife named Jameela and has three children. He has two sons named Shakir and Rafi and a daughter. He is a very talented singer and has been awarded many prestigious awards and accolades.

Here is a list of awards that he has been bestowed: 1991- Tamil Nadu state film Award for the Best Male Playback singer, 1997- Film fare Award for the Best Male Playback singer- Telugu Also many prestigious awards like Prestigious “Kalaimaamani” Award from Government of Tamil Nadu, Awarded by many cultural Association in India, Received “Gold Bracelet” & “Gana Samrat” from APNA Foundation, Atlanta, the USA on April 14th, 2008 and Dr.Ghantasala award from the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. He is a very talented and a respected person in the industry and has been a mentor and an inspiration to many people.
