She is a South Indian film actress, works in Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil Film Industry. She is the young actress who made her first debut in the movie Mudhugauv. The movie was a big hit and gave her careers a blast. Arthana did not have a good relation with her father.

She stated in one of her interviews that she does not need her father name to get success as his father is the senior actor. She is not in touch with her father. She was single-handled raised by her mother as her father Vijayakumar gave divorced from her mother and left them. She considers her mother as her idol, mentor and biggest support of her life.

She chooses to keep her mother’s name as her surname; she does not want a tag of star kid.
