M. Prabhakar Reddy

M. Prabhakar Reddy was a well known character actor in the Telugu film industry. He was born in the year 1935 Thungathurthi in Telangana and his parents are Lakshmana Reddy and Kausalya. In his career span of thirty years, he has acted more than 450 films. He was not only an actor, but also a writer. He is basically a doctor in his career.

He did his medical course in Osmania Medical College, which is affiliated to Osmania University in Hyderabad. His first film showed him as a psychiatrist. He was introduced to the film industry by Gutta Ramineedu. Apart from acting, he is the best story writer in the Telugu industry. M. Prabhakar Reddy has written almost 21 stories for the Telugu films. He got National Award for his film Pandanti Kappuram. He was also awarded with the Nandi Award for three times for best supporting actor, best story writer and for best actor.

Actress Jayaprada was named by him, when she entered the film industry with her original name as Lalitha Rani. He has not only named her, but introduced her in his film, Bhoomi Kosam. This legendary actor, script writer as well a Medical practitioner left this world in the year 1997 in Hyderabad.
