Vijay ( Vijaykumar) got the title Thalaivasal as he acted in the movie called Thaliavasal. He is an Ace actor who has acted in more than 200 movies in various languages viz Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada. Though he comes in small roles in most of the movies, he makes an impact in the hearts of the audience in whatever role he performs. He is such a good actor.

He was born on 4th August 1962 as first son in a humble middle class family. His father was a railway employee working in Bhilai. Vijay stayed with his grandmother in Chennai and did his schooling. His debut into film was through a serial called Neela Mala after it happened after a long struggle. During his younger days his dream was to become a doctor, which didn’t happen and he ended up doing a degree. Later he did his PG in catering and also in marketing which helped him in his career when he was working in a restaurant and then in a hospital as a marketing executive. He also was a gymnast, choreographer and a dancer for a short period. Then he joined film institute with the help of his friends as his family didn’t like him entering film institute. His family was worried as he was finding it difficult to settle down in one profession.

He was a gold medalist in the film institute when he got the chance to act in his first serial “Neela Mala” in Doordharshan and later he started acting in movies. Presently he is acting in a serial called Ganga Yamuna Saraaswathi. This story is all about a single lady and her three sons in a village who are against girl children. This serial also depicts a character which is against female infanticide.

Vijay is married and one of his children his daughter Jayaveena is a tamil nadu state level swimmer. She has won few medals too in state level competitions.

Though he was won many awards like Kerala state best actor award and many more, his aim is to get a National Award. Apart from acting, choreography and dancing he is also skilled in dubbing and he has acted in many advertisements too.
