Sivakumar Jayakumar, well known as Siva, is an Indian filmmaker and works mainly in the Tamil cinema as the cinematographer, director, and actor. He started photography in 1998, and he always dreamed of becoming a filmmaker.
Sivakumar was a gold medalist from M.G.R. Government Film and Television Training Institute. Siva came to Hyderabad to work for Venkatesh film Jayam Manade Raa (2000) as an operative cameraman. In 2002, he became an Independent Cinematographer, after his brother Bala, made his acting debut. Siva shot about 15 films since then.
Siva was born on 4 January 1984, to a photographer Jayakumar in Chennai. He is the grandson of the well-known producer and writer A. K. Velan. Sivakumar narrated a script to Gopichand who agree to play the lead role in 2008.
He started his second film, again with the Gopichand lead. He started his career as a director in the Tamil film industry with Siruthai, a remake of S.S. Rajamouli’s action movie Vikramarkudu. Afterward, he made films such as Siruthai, Daruvu, Vedhalam, etc.
