C Raja Durai took birth on 27th July 1927 and was a Sri Lankan Tamil. He was a potential journalist and a member of the editorial staff at a prestigious newspaper. C RajaDurai appointed as the federal party member at Batticaloa at the parliament election in 1956. Moreover, he was elected for the same in 1960,1965 and, 1970. He was the 1st ever mayor appointment at Batticaloa in 1967.

He also been a part of the Tamilnadu liberation Front at Batticaloa parliament elections in 1977 and re-elected for the same. He was also rewarded for his efforts and work in Regional and Hindu Cultural affairs. Later, he served as the Sri Lankan high commissioner in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
