Badri (Badri Narayan Ranganathan) is an Indian screenwriter and director who mostly works in the Tamil film industry. He started with working in the television industry with a show on Sun TV called Iniya Iru Malargal Iniya Iru Malargal is a Tamil serial that revolves >> Read More... . He also worked on films like Veerappu (a remake of a Mohanlal's Malayalam blockbuster hit- Spadikam) starring Sundar C., Prakash Raj, Gopika, Vivek, Santhanam, Anju, Santhoshini, and Tejashree. Since then he has indeed come a long way. His godfather/friend in this industry has always been Sundar C. (an actor, film director, and a producer).

Vinayaga Sundara Vadivel Chidambaram Pillai has worked with Badri for almost ten years now and helped him by setting him up as an assistant director in the beginning. He also helped Badri in making Ainthaam Padai (a Tamil language movie produced by Sundar's wife) which starred Sundar C., Simran Bagga, Nassar, Aditi Choudhary, Vivek, and Devayani. The film got negative reviews and almost ended up in trouble for lifting scenes from different movies such as Devasuram (a Malayalam film). Similarly, Badri wrote the script for Kalakalappu (Sundar C.’s directorial venture).

Badri's biggest hit remains the remake of K. Balachander’s Thillu Mullu, starring Rajnikanth, which itself is the remake of the 1979 hit film "Golmaal.” The movie was not a direct remake as Badri changed the script a lot to make it more relatable to the younger generation. The movie was released on 24th August 2013. The movie was shot mostly in the Middle Eastern areas such as Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The film got positive reviews, especially the song "Raagangal Pathinaru," which got high appraisals. Soon after he directed a movie called "Thambikku Endha Ooru" but it got negative reviews and was a big failure in Bardi's career. Badri's latest works include a movie called " Aadama Jaichomada Click to look into! >> Read More... " (a Tamil comedy) starring Karunakaran, Bobby Simha The transformation of Bobby Jayasimha of remote K >> Read More... , and Vijayalakshmi.

The movie was directed and written by him. The movie was acknowledged as a hit. In 2015, he wrote and directed two movies- "At Once" (romance) and "Kshatriya" (action/drama). In an interview, when asked about his inspirations, he answered that his movies try to show the story from the perspective of the public/common man. He gets inspiration from all sort of places and people. For example, he got the idea of Aadama Jaichomada from an advertisement about match betting while watching a game of cricket. He is currently working on a movie called Sangamithra (a historical film) starring Jayam Ravi Born on September 10, 1980, Jayam Ravi’s original >> Read More... , Arya, and Shruti Hassan. The great music maestro A.R. Rahman will be composing the music for the movie. It is said to be the most expensive movie ever created after Bahubali.
