With his experience and lessons from Lal Jose, Reghu Rama Varma tried his hand at direction and succeeded in it. The movie 'Rajamma @ Yahoo' is well received by the critics and the audience as well. It is immensely reviewed by a few international and national critics and pointed out that the first half is funny, but the plot seems to be a bit elongating in the second half which is disappointing for the audience. Akhila Menon from Filmibeat.com rated 2 out of 5 stars, and she said that the lead performance is professionally done and cinematography is well established but criticized the script, music, and editing. She wrote that the first half was entertaining and enchanting while the latter half and the climax were weak and ineffective. Mostly, the entire movie surrounds around the mundane plot. It has to be appreciated for the director's creativity to make the mundane story a well established comic story at least in the first half. But one has to appreciate for his good start and his efforts that went into making it a very good debut movie.
