Ashok Shirali is a producer in the Kannada film industry. Ashok was born on September 12, 1951, in Karnataka. His father Mr. V. Lakshmi Narasimhalah, was a police inspector in Anekal. Ashok always wanted to be a film star. Soon after completing his studies, he applied to NSD, FTTI, Pune, and Madras Film Institute. He got admitted to Madras Film Institute, where he topped the course.Â
Ashok’s first film was Hennu Samsrada Kannu, in 1975 with famous actress Sridevi. He was elected to lead the Karnataka Film Artists, Workers, and Technicians Union as its first president in 1986. Additionally, he participates in many activities, such as the Raitha Sangha demonstrations and the Gokak movement.
