Vindhya is an Indian actress who played the lead role in Rajiv Nethra’s romantic drama “ Manada Mareyalli Click to look into! >> Read More... ” (2014). The movie revolves around a flutist who falls for a visually challenged girl but has to transcend hurdles to marry her. It was well-received by the audience and declared a semi-hit. Vindhya, however, made the headlines when she attempted to commit suicide while the movie was in its post-production stages.

On 4 March 2014, she had consumed nearly seventy diabetic and blood pressure pills at her house in the Agrahara Dasarahalli, Vijayanagar locality of Shivamogga, Karnataka. She was rushed to the Bowring and Lady Curzon Hospital in Bangalore by her neighbors when her visually impaired parents, Rangaswamy and Nagamma, found her lying unconscious.

She was admitted in the ICU for nearly a week and discharged on 8 March 2014. It came to light that she had gone on a trip to Shimla and Delhi with her friends and boyfriend, Manjunath, who claimed to be a graduated event manager. Vindhya had later discovered that he was a college dropout without any job and decided to break up with him. Furious, Manjunath made viral some obscene pictures of her on social media, which led her to take the fatal step.
