Hindi Tv Actress Beenish Chohan
Written By - Team Nettv4u
Unlike India where cinema brings greater fame and exposure to actors, in Pakistan, TV and the stage has quite a strong audience following. Such is the case, that even without acting in any films, an actress like Beenish Chohan, who entered acting through the route of modelling, is widely known although featuring only in TV roles. What has specifically distinguished her to her audiences is her flair for natural and forceful acting, bringing out the characters she portrays in real life colours. Although her forte has been serious and off beat roles, she has shined equally well in the comic portrayals that she has undertaken. Her name figures well on top of those Pakistani actresses who are well known for their powerful acting rather than just glamour, and the enactment of her roles in the two serials “Najiah” , written and scripted by Shahid Masroor; and “Lyari Express” written by the veteran Zafar Mairaj about Lyari, the multi ethnic outskirt of Karachi stand out. The acting bug had stuck Beenish quite young and she started acting at an early age of 14, back in the year 2000. Like most other Pakistani actors, she also found her bearing in the world of acting through her performances on the stage for which she has performed in a large number of theatrical shows. However, having developed basically into a TV personality, she has extensive links in the TV world engaging herself simultaneously on quite a few assignments for the popular HUM TV channel, for which she has also worked in the genre of telefilms, as distinct from normal episodic serials for which she also works regularly. For her 25 to 30 odd TV performances, she has not only won audience recognition but also formal awards like the Lux Style Award earlier on in 2008 for her portrayal in “Pehli Boondh”, a drama serial. Awards apart, she has a large fan following and has been widely acclaimed for her performances in serials like “Kahe Ko Biyahee Bides”, besides other family based serials, in many of which she has also played unconventional or ‘rebellious’ roles questioning the traditional norms imposed by society.
