Justin Jose

Justin Jose is a sound engineer and sound mixer of Indian origin. He has worked in films of different regional languages like Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and Malayalam. Justin Jose was born on 11th October,1980 in Thrissur, Kerala. He started working in the industry in the year 2003 and is still very active with his work. Justin did his graduation in Economics from St.Thomas College, Thrissur. After that, he received Diploma in Audio Recording from Chetna Sound Studio. He also received 4th-grade electronic keyboard from Trinity College of Music. He moved to Mumbai in 2003 and started working under Deepan Chatterjee.

The name of the company was QLabs as ADR Recordist. He became a premix engineer for feature films and became an independent re-recording mixer in the year 2008.He has been active since then. He has done re-recording and mixing for Indian movies like in Bollywood and regional movies. He did re-recording and mixing for Hollywood movies too. He has done a total of more than 250 films. He joined Fireworks Studio, Mumbai in the year 2012.He is now handling Dolby Atmos mix for movies. Dolby Atmos is a technology which allows sound designers to experiment and create genuine audio effects.

Usually films are recorded in 48kHz.Justin said that, many were having a doubt if they would succeed but they did it and it was a milestone in the history of cinema.

Justin is said to be one amongst the Malayali’s who scored big in Bollywod and many other regional languages.Justin also worked in Madras Café, which was the first Indian movie to use native Atmos mix. Justin Jose proved his excellence in this field and won many prestigious awards for his outstanding works. In the year 2015, he won National Award in the category of Best Sound Re-recording Mixer for Bajirao Mastani. In 2013, Justin Jose won Star Guild Award and Western India Motion Picture & Television Engineer's Association Awards Best Sound Mixing award for Madras Café. In the year 2015, he won Archdiocese of Thrissur's Youth Excellence Award.
