Madhuri Banerjee is an Indian author, columnist, ad film director, assistant director, blogger and screen writer. She was born on 9th August 1975. She is known for her book Losing My Virginity And Other Dumb Ideas. She has a daughter. She often deals with the themes of gender issues and female sexuality in her works. Cosmo magazine called her the Indian version of Carrie Bradshaw.

Writer Shobha De once called her a Raja Ravi Verma painting. She is the owner of the production house named Aria Entertainment House. She represents Revlon as the Relationship Expert of the campaign Choices. Madhuri worked as an assistant director in the Hindi film Yaadein in 2001.She was the assistant director in the Bollywood flick Rahul in 2001. She was also the assistant director of the Bollywood feature film Kuch Naa Kaho in 2003. Madhuri made her debut as a screen writer when she wrote the screenplay for the Bollywood flick Hate Story 2. The feature film hit the screens in 2014.

Madhuri made her debut as a novelist with the story Losing My Virginity And Other Dumb Ideas, which was published in 2011. She was inspired by a conversation with her friend, in which the friend told her that she was still a virgin despite being thirty years old. The novel sold more than forty thousand copies. Madhuri wrote the book My Clingy Girlfriend which was published in 2015. This book unlike, her usual works, is written from a male point of view. Actress Karisha Kapoor collaborated with Madhuri to write the non-fiction book The Yummy Mummy Guide. Madhuri has also written and published novels which are Mistakes Like Love And Sex in 2012, Advantage Love in 2014, Scandalous Housewives in 2014, Forbidden Desires in 2016 and The Flaky Mummy in 2016.

Madhuri writes for a sex and relationship column at the Maxim magazine. She was also a columnist for the Asian Age for two years. Madhuri made a documentary titled Between Dualities. She won a National Award for the documentary on women’s issues.

Dove produced a documentary about Madhuri as a Yahoo Fearless and Fab Woman which has been posted on the Yahoo! Website. Madhuri has a website and a personal blog where she posts new information about her works, prose, essays, reviews and articles. As of April 2017, her personal blog has more than eight lakh ten thousand views. She also blogs for CNN-IBN and wrote a few articles for India Today’s online venture, Daily-O.
