The man, who started the production firm the Brandsmith and Brandsmith Motion (a firm which is known to be very choosy in selecting the movies it would back and has till now backed only a strong content based cinema), has donned a multitude of hats in his professional career. A look at the diverse experience this person has had shows that he has been a journalism for more than 20 years, has worked in the corporate communication domain as well as Brand Management. He is a well-known name in the media, film industry and the corporates has recently been appointed as the CEO of the Ponty Chaddha owned Wave Group’s film promotion and production business.

It is believed that Mr Mittra will report directly to the chairman of the Waves group Mr Raju Chaddha. Mr Mittra started his career as a journalist with The Times of India in 1994, and from there moved on further to senior positions in The Times Group with India times in 2000. He was responsible for launching the Times' in-house PR agency called "Medianet," which has been known to be one of the most controversial media initiatives ever. In between these two stints, Mr Mittra also headed the Russian operations of Core Healthcare Ltd, major pharma giants, heading PR with Travelite (India) group of companies, heading an intelligence and news insight portal as the COO. Mr Mittra is a Political Science Honours from the Hindu College, Delhi University, Masters in International Relations from JNU, Delhi and an alum of the prestigious Modern School, Barakhamba, Delhi.

Mr Mittra is a man who believes in setting up both long and short term goals and then working in a planner manner in order to achieve them. About his current venture, he says that even though he has an eye on the future, his focus is on consolidating the key contact base. He says that expansion can happen with time and there is no hurry of that. Talking about his firm Brandsmith, he says that he went with the name because of the connection with the word “lohaar” or the blacksmith. He says that the meticulousness of a blacksmith is what prompted him to call his firm “Brandsmiths” because the meticulousness is what Mr Mittra had envisioned for his firm.
