Sandesh Shandilya is an Indian musician working in Bollywood. He is also a singer and composes music for films. He is famous for his music album Piya Basanti which came out in 2001. Shandilya was born in Agra on 19th February 1968. He lived there up to the age of21. His father taught military science at a college. Shandilyafelt a connection towards music from a young age. So he got himself to get trained from Shri Ram Bhartiya Kala Kendra in Delhi.

When he turned 21, he went to Mumbai to pursue a career in music industry. He began assisting SurinderSodhi. He enhanced his singing ability by learning classical vocals from RajashreePathak. Shandilya composed music for two films Dholnaand Pyaarke Geet in 2000. He gained his big break by composing music in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. The album received International Viewers' Choice Award at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards. His Guru Ustad Sultan Khan sung the famous song“PiyaBasanti” from the album. His music can be found almost in every hit song. He is considered to be young yet seasoned composer Indian Music Industry has ever had.

He also received La Reel award for the best original soundtrack for the film Road to Sangam in 2010. He performed his symphony “Searching for Buddha” at the WDR Rundfunk Orchestra in Cologne, Germany. His performance was set to run fortwo days in Feb 2015.
