Simala Prasad is an IPS Officer posted in Madhya Pradesh. Simala finished her schooling from Saint Joseph’s Co-Ed School, Bhopal. She then enrolled herself into B.Com and after that post-graduation in Sociology from Barkatullah University, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. She got a gold medal during her post-graduation. According to her, she used to take part in school and college dramas and was into the theatre to perform plays. She was very intelligent, after completing her education she gave PSC exam and cleared it in her very first attempt.

She was appointed as DSP. Simala was transferred to Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, as SSP (Senior Superintendent of Police). Due to negligence and insult by her senior officers, she decided to go for IPS (Indian Police Service). She got selected in IPS in 2011. Simalagives credit for her success to his passion and obsession towards studies. Her father is a retired IAS officer and Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha Dr. Bhagirath Prasad, and her mother, Mrs. Mehrunnisa Parvez, is an Indian writer of Hindi Literature. Director Zaigham Imam was casting for his movie “Alif”; during this, he met Simala in an event in Delhi.

He offered a lead role in “Alif” after the recitation of the script during their meeting. She accepted the offer immediately in order to bring awareness among people. She says in one interview that the film “Alif” is the story of the madrasa (a college for Islamic instruction), and modern education and she says that the role she played and the environment of the story of this movie is very different from her real life. The movie premiered at the Indian International Film Festival of Queensland, Australia, and the movie won awards like Bioscope Global Film Festival for Best Screen Play and Best Child Artist. Last year her new movie released directed by Zaigham Imam “Nakkash”.
