Freida Pinto is a popular cinema and TV star who was born in the year 1984 in Mumbai. Freida is basically a catholic girl from the Mangalorean origin. Her parents are Fredrick Pinto and Sylvia Pinto. When she was doing her graduation, she started to act in the plays and also worked as a TV host. She was also doing modeling during her college days. She joined Barry John's Acting Studio and learnt acting, before she stepped to act in the cinema. She is a classical dancer too. Full Circle was the first show anchored by her for Zee International Asia Pacific. Slum Dog Millionaire is the debut movie for Freida Pinto. She tried a lot to grab a film, but was unsuccessful. Slum Dog Millionaire gave her the opportunity to shine. This film turned to be a super duper international hit and bagged international awards, including the Oscar. Trishna is the next film by her and it was very well criticized by the film critics. This film was also awarded as the Best Film in London Film Festival. She vested her performance in the film, The Rise of The Planet of the Apes. Immortals, , Unity, Knight of Cups and Blunt Force Trauma are some of her popular movies. At present, she has two films in her hands, Yamasong: March of the Hollows and : Origins. Yamasong is under post production and the Jungle book shooting is going on successfully. Freida Pinto is the only Indian actress who was invited to join with the popular tennis couple Steffi Graff and Andre Agassi for the fundraiser for the education of the children. Freida Pinto joined in hands with the UN secretary Ban Ki Moon and Jim Yong Kim, the president of World Bank for a documentary film Girl Rising. Freida Pinto is currently living in Los Angeles in US and acting in the films.
